Actual preaching of Jesus
Islam is the only non-Christian faith which makes it mandatory for its followers to believe in Jesus (PBUH) as a true messenger of Allah. Muslims, however, reject Christians’ view that Jesus is a God himself, or he is a son of God. According to Muslim faith, Jesus (PBUH):
- preached monotheism;
- never claimed to be God, or son of God;
- always told people to worship one God only & not to associate anyone with Him;
- prohibited people from worshiping angels or Holy Spirit;
- was very clear about his status as he always called himself “son of man”, not the “son of God”;
- never asked people to worship him; whereas God orders to worship Him.
On Judgment Day, Jesus (PBUH) will become a witness as explained in the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Maida) as follows:
And when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’. ” He will say: “Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen). – (Source: Holy Qur’an. Surah Al-Maida, Ayah No. 116).
Christians’ sacred scripture, the Holy Bible, is a proof of truthfulness of Muslim’s view of Jesus and the above Qur’anic claim. Following verses (21 to 23) of Matthew 7 of the Holy Bible (New Living Translation) are self explanatory and leave no room for doubt about the actual status of Jesus (PBUH) and the “free gift of salvation“:
21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ – (Source: Holy Bible, Matthew 7: 21-23 – New Living Translation)
