Narrated by Abu Musa (RA):

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain-water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilize it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah’s religion and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah has revealed through me (i.e. Prophet Mohammad) and learns and then teaches others. The last example (of barren land) is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allah’s guidance revealed through me.”

The prophecy of Deuteronomy: Chapter 33, Verse 2 states as follows:

“And he said: ‘The LORD came from Sinai, And dawned on them from Seir; He shone forth from Mount Paran, And He came with ten thousands of saints; From His right hand Came a fiery law for them’.”

This verse of Bible prophesizes about three future prophets in a chronological order by giving reference to their locations: Sinai, Seir and Paran. In addition to locations, this prophecy informs about two more aspects of the third prophet… Firstly that he will be accompanied by ten thousand saints and secondly that he will come with a bright law. This prophecy is in fact a blessing and glad tidings bestowed by prophet Moses (PBUH) upon his followers just prior to his death. It was designed to give his followers hope upon the occasion of the passing of their prophet that God is not abandoning them, rather, He shall continue to bless mankind with His guidance and His light.

Locations of the prophets:

Sinai – Mount Sinai is the place where Moses (PBUH) received his revelation. Therefore, it is an obvious reference to the holy prophet Moses (PBUH).

Seir – According to the Dictionary of the Bible, John L. McKenzie, S.J., Seir is a chain of mountains in West and South of the Dead Sea extending through Jerusalem, and Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus (PBUH). Seir is also identified with the Northern border of the tribal territory of Judah which is located just North of these two cities. Prophet Moses (PBUH) never in his lifetime entered Palestine, and thus, this could not be a reference to him. Therefore, it is a reference to Jesus (PBUH).

Paran – The wilderness of Paran is where prophet Abraham’s wife Hagar and his eldest son Ishmael, the father of the Arabs, settled (refer to Genesis 21:21) in the Arabian Desert. Today this area is known as “Makkah” which is the birthplace of prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The first revelation on Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was in the cave of “Hira” located in the highest part of the chain of Mountains referred to as “Mount Paran” in Bible. It is quite relevant to mention here that no prophet of the Bible, including Moses and Jesus (PBUT) ever came from the Arabian city of Paran (Makkah). Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the only prophet of God who has ever fulfilled this prophecy.

Other mattes of the prophecy:

The prophecy tells us that this prophet from Paran who will bring a fiery new law shall come with 10,000 saints.

Even if we ignore the fact that Moses and Jesus (PBUT) did not belong to Paran, we find that prophet Moses (PBUH) was appointed seventy very close and devout followers, while Jesus (PBUH) was appointed eleven (excluding Judas i.e. the one who betrayed Jesus) very close and devout followers or disciples. Whereas, the history has witness that two years before the death of prophet Mohammad (PBUH), he lead ten thousand of his followers to their final and decisive victory against the pagans of Makkah. The Muslims took control of Makkah, which was the capital of paganistic Arabia, virtually without a single casualty. Upon entering Makkah victorious, Mohammad (PBUH) did not take its inhabitants as prisoners. Even though these people had been torturing and killing his companions and himself for so many years, he commanded that they not be tortured, nor should retribution be sought against them. Rather, he set them all free. Most of them entered into Islam. The new law (also known as Sharia Law) implemented by Mohammad (PBUH) and his true followers in the Islamic state was a bright law giving forgiveness and mercy, compassion and kindness, love and brotherhood, education and knowledge, and so on. This again shows that prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was the only one to fulfill this requirement.

After reading the above with an open mind, there remains no doubt that only Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the true messenger of God rightly sent by Him to enlighten the world with Sharia Law.

Have you ever seen any book which claims that it is free from doubt – any kind of doubt – including the doubt of errors in statements or predictions, or doubt of events pertaining to history, or doubt about the author, or doubt about the outcomes of different types of actions and so on… In contrast, you might find a number of books offering rewards to the readers for their contributions towards making that book error-free.

Let me take the honor to introduce you to the book which claims to be error-free: Qur’an – the most read book on the face of earth – claims as follows:

“This (Qur’an) is the Book, whereof there is no doubt (about it)…” – Source Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 2.

Over 1400 years have already passed since the Book was first revealed and since then not even a single statement whether scientific, geographic, historical, or a future prediction has been proven wrong by a vast majority of professional critics. This creates distinction between the man-made books (which are prone to errors & change/correction) and a Divine Revelation, which is perfect and beyond doubts.

This also shows that this flawless Book is from the author who is perfect in knowledge and wisdom.

The prophecy of Deuteronomy – Chapter 18 – Verse 18 states as follows:

“I (God) will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

This prophecy of Bible has different parts:

1.    The prophet will be like Moses;

2.    The prophet will be from the brethren of Moses;

3.    The prophet will speak God’s words: i.e. He will put His words in prophet’s mouth;

4. The prophet will speak everything God will command to him.

Part-1: The prophet will be like Moses – Similarities between Moses and Mohammad (peace be upon them all):

Similarities between Moses and Mohammad (Peace be upon them all)

*1 – He (Jesus) came unto his own, and his own received him not – John – Chapter 1 – verse 11.

*2 – Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: – John – Chapter 18 – verse 36.

*3 – (Jesus said) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. – Matthew – Chapter 5 – verse 17 & 18.

*4 – According to prevailing Christian belief, Jesus was crucified and killed.

*5 – According to prevailing Christian belief, Jesus was buried first and later on he ascended to heaven.

*6 – According to prevailing Christian belief, Jesus was God, not a prophet.

*7 – According to prevailing Christian belief, Jesus was buried first and later on he resurrected and ascended to heaven.

Part-2: The prophet will be from the brethren of Moses – Will the prophet be from among the Jews?

The person whom this prophecy is talking about cannot be a Jew in the light of Deuteronomy Chapter 34, Verse 10, which states: “And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses”. Therefore, none of the prophets in Jews is comparable to Moses.

So, who are these “brethren” of Moses? If we look back to the history of Jews till Ibrahim (AS), we find that Ibrahim (AS) had only two sons: Ishaq (AS) and Ismael (AS). Ishaq (AS) is the father of Jews and Ismael (AS) is the father of Arabs. Therefore, the brethren of Moses mentioned in this prophecy are Arabs.

Part-3: The prophet will speak God’s words: i.e. He will put His words in prophet’s mouth:

This means the prophet will not be speaking his own words, rather will be speaking the words which are put in his mouth. This also fits on Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Qur’an says:

“Nor does he speak of (his own) desire”. – Surah An-Najm – Ayah 3.

Additionally, there are many verses in Qur’an which mention like this:

“I am your Lord…”

All the words in Qur’an are Allah’s words put into the mouth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) through the angel Jibrael (AS).

Christians claim that the Bible was “inspired” by God and the words are the words of men. They admit that Bible had many different authors and the chapters in Bible are named after the names of the authors: John, Matthew, Luke.

Dr. W. Graham Scroggie of the MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE, Chicago, one of the most prestigious Christian Evangelical Mission in the world, answering the question — “Is the Bible the Word of God?” (also the title of his book), under the heading: IT IS HUMAN, YET DIVINE. He says on page 17:

“Yes, the Bible is human, though some, out of zeal which is not according to knowledge, have denied this. Those books have passed through the minds of men, are written in the language of men, were penned by the hands of men, and bear in their style the characteristics of men.”

Part-4: The prophet will speak everything God will command to him:

This shows that the prophet will not withhold anything. He will speak everything which God has commanded.

Study of Qur’an reveals that everything that Mohammad (PBUH) received, he delivered. Even if it goes against him and even if it criticized his action. For example:

“O Prophet! Why do you forbid (for yourself) that which Allah has allowed to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” – Surah At-Tahrim, Ayah 1.

At another place:

“(The Prophet (PBUH)) frowned and turned away. Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. ‘Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (PBUH) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). And how can you know that he might become pure (from sins)? Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, To him you attend; What does it matter to you if he will not become pure. But as to him who came to you running. And is afraid (of Allah). Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another. Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (this Qur’an) is an admonition. So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.” – Surah Abasa – Ayahs 1 – 12

All the above prove beyond doubt that the prophecy mentions about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Still in doubt? Write a comment…

All the prophets or messengers of God including Ibrahim (Abraham), Moses & Jesus, peace be upon them all, preached and practiced Islam as their religion. They also chose the name “Muslim” for the followers of this religion. Qur’an acknowledges this fact:

And strive hard in Allah’s cause as you ought to strive. He has chosen you, and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship: it is the religion of your father Ibrahim. He has named you Muslims both before and in this (Qur’an), that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So, perform the Salah, give the Zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector, what an Excellent Protector and what an Excellent Helper! (Source: Holy Qur’an: Surah Al-Hajj, Ayah:78)

It may be a surprising fact for you that Jesus (PBUH) himself admitted the fact of being a Muslim.

Qur’an defines believers as follows:

(The believers are) those who turn to Allah in repentance (from polytheism and hypocrisy, etc.), who worship (Him), who praise (Him), who fast (or go out in Allahs Cause), who bow down (in prayer), who prostrate themselves (in prayer), who enjoin (on people) “Al-Maruf” (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all what Islam has ordained) and forbid (people) from “Al-Munkar” (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds and all that Islam has forbidden), and who observe the limits set by Allah (do all that Allah has ordained and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allah has forbidden). And give glad tidings to the believers. – (Source: Holy Qur’an, Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah No. 112)

Following are some additional characteristics of believers:

So whatever you have been given is but (a passing) enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse), and when they are angry, forgive. And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (i.e. prayer), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them. And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, take revenge. The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors and wrong-doers). - (Source: Holy Qur’an, Surah Ash-Shura, Ayah No. 36 to 40)

Following are some instructions to the believers:

Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms,) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) servants whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful. – (Source: Holy Qur’an: Surah Al-Noor, Ayah 30-31)
