What is Quran (also written as “Koran”)?

Literal meaning of the word “Qur’an” is “recitation”. It is the book most widely “recited” or “read” across the globe.  The Qur’an is the word of God and the end of God’s revelations to the mankind, revealed to the holy prophet Muhammad (May Allah’s Peace and Blessings be Upon Him) though the angel Jibril.

The Qur’an is perfect only as revealed in the original Arabic; translations are necessarily deficient because of human error, language differences, the fallibility of translators, and the impossibility of preserving the original’s inspired style.
