Why is suicide not permitted in Islam?
Life is sacred and is not allowed to be wasted. Whenever someone faces difficulty, this is a test for him. God does not burden anyone beyond his power or capacity. The ups and downs of life are challenges, which God wants us to face, instead of running away from them.
“Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope…” (Source: Qur’an. Surah Al Baqarah, Ayah No. 286)
